Sundance 2026: One last dance in Park City

Being in a high altitude location, miles away from home (LA) and surrounded by mountains and clear skies—it was the recipe that my: heart, mind and soul truly needed! I remember and miss (now) the walking, the discovering, the cold and yet warmth of the feeling that I was at the right place where I was meant to be at!

Surrounded by creative people, that may or may not have something to do with film or cinema, but people that had an appreciation for it… it felt as if you could connect, felt heard, exchange ideas, movie suggestions and also as you found common ground—stay in touch! This festival and the community around it, truly recharged my creative battery! What a great feeling! Seeing how others are able to create, makes you wanna take the blinds or breaks on your own craft and just go for it!

There were parties, events, people in line, people with curiosity and joy… but what I loved the most was that there was a sense of community. That’s why you go to those kinds of film festivals—to get that sense that the madness that comes from your mind, lands on the page and lingers in your dreams… can be turned into action or materialized on the big screen!

I was lucky that I got to see some amazing people speak at panels… and also I was even more lucky that I got to talk to a few of them. Being in proximity of the people following their passion, it can make you jealous or it can serve as way to get inspiration to do that for your vision—I chose the later.

Out of all the people… I was lucky to been able to listen not once, but twice the Maestro Guillermo Del Toro preach! His journey made me think of how so many times, we might feel that we’re ready to give up… but then our higher calling shows us signs to keep going—because we’re very close to succeed! We can act out of fear or love—I choose love!

Every day that you do something you love, even for just a few minutes… you’re feeding your soul, and if you’re a creative person like myself, we cannot starve the desire to fulfill our creative dreams!

I am so grateful that I was at the last dance at Sundance in Park City, Utah. I felt that I had missed out on so many memories… but at the same time, I was so happy that I got to see it, enjoy the vibes, parties, sharing memories and meeting so many amazing people! I was so happy that the universe put some great people that made this journey possible. My right hand man Rob Watt and best road trip companion-pianist-extraordinaire Jason Pelsey! The people working the podcast for Elvis Mitchell, you guys rock and were amazing! The awesome UTA Lounge! The Sundance Institute for all their hard work and to the volunteers that made the experience so pleasant!

To Guillermo Del Toro for all the lessons, inspiration and fuel for the long road ahead as I keep making my path as a Screenwriter & Director! And last but not least… to the new friends that the universe put in my path… I’ll forever cherish these memories–until we meet again!
